The Young Citizens Danube Network has always advocated for proper planningas a key to successful execution of organization’s programs and projects.Thanks to its experience in strategic planning YCDN has been continuously offeringassistance to its partners throughout the Danuberegion.

 

The Youth Organization The Bonsai Tree (cro. Udruga mladih DRVOBonsai) from Dubrovnk, Croatia, with the help of YCDN’s facilitator Ivan Matic,has organized a series of workshops aimed at developing organization’sstrategic plan for the period 2012-2015. The Bonsai Tree organization is anon-profit non-partisan and non-governmental youth organization aimed atpromoting civil society and active participation among young citizens through volunteering,education, creative development and work for public good.

 

The strategic plan for the period 2012-1025 will be presented in Dubrovnik, Croatiamid January 2012, together with the accompanying working plan for the 2012. *

Call for Papers

Prevention campaign on human trafficking is looking for volunteers

 YCDN is looking for volunteer project coordinators to implement its new human trafficking campaign. The campaign is planned in Romania, Bulgaria, Hungary, Serbia and Germany and starts in March with a workshop in Düsseldorf with lectures of experts on web 2.0 campaigning and human trafficking and group work aiming to develop the
concept of the campaign and brainstorm ideas. After the workshop, the participants will return to their home countries and implement the web 2.0 prevention campaign based on the concept and materials developed in the workshop and their own ideas. The work is
on a voluntary basis and we are not able to provide financial compensation.
However, the costs of the workshop, including travel, accommodation, food, as well as smaller costs that will arise during the implementation will be covered for.

Tasks will include:

-         Setting up and running a blog, a facebook, twitter and/or other social network page

-         Translating materials from English into the local languages

-         Organizing discussions/presentations/flash mobs/film clubs, etc.

Requirements:

-         Currently living in Germany, Romania, Bulgaria, Serbia or Hungary, fluent in the
respective languages and knowledge of the political and human rights situation
in the respective countries

-         Able to invest considerable time and energy in the project for at least 6 months,
starting March 2012

-         Experience in the field of human trafficking and/or web 2.0 campaigning

-         Experience in civic activism, a network with local activists and NGOs is desired

-         Good communicational and organizational skills, ability to mobilize others

YCDN successfully took part in the student workshop at the Corvinus University of Budapest

YCDN took part in the workshop Students Discussing the Future of Euro organized by the Antall József Knowledge Centre of Political and Social Science. YCDN members Ákos Tóth, Katalin Tóth and Zita Mirk had the opportunity to talk about the future of the euro zone from a specific point of view. The group held their presentation about the future possibilities of the euro with a focus on the German-Franco relations. The prestigious jury – membering Zoltán Pitti, researcher of Corvinus University Budapest, expresident of the National Tax and Customs Administration (NAV) of Hungary; Ágnes Csermely, Head of Department of Monetary Strategy and Economic Analysis of Hungarian National Bank; István Madár, Chief Analyst of Portfolio.hu; and Dr. Gábor Pörzse, President of Board of Trustees of Antall József Centre of Advanced Learning – have evaluated the performance. They have especially welcomed and underlined in their professional opinion the historical-political approach completed with the economic aspects. The financial workshop was an accompanying programme of the Schäuble-conference held on the 5th of December 2012 on the occasion of awarding the German Federal Minister of Finance, Wolfgang Schäuble the title of honorary doctor of the Corvinus University Budapest.
